Mission
Statement
The African Women Economic Consortium is a non
profit 501 (C)( 3) organization founded in 2002
as an organization of women of diverse social,
educational and spiritual backgrounds who have
recognized the need for proactive action for change
in the lives of women and children locally, nationally
and globally. Our mission is to enrich and empower
families through our housing initiative, the Village
of Hope. The Village of Hope-IKEOHA will change
how children are cared for in Africa. In the United
States, the Village of Hope –FOUNDATIONS
will provide specialized housing for youth aging
out of the Foster Care system.
Our TRIAD( Problem Solving and Risk Management,
Grant writing and Financial Literacy, workshops
is a three day workshop, designed to teach the
skills necessary to achieve personal, business
and academic results.
AWEC sponsors an annual Awards Luncheon”
Against All Odds” that honors people who
have achieved excellence in medicine, business,
academic, social and philanthropic endeavors,
despite obstacles.
