Chief
Uwa Onyioha-Osimiri, PhD, is the Senior Spiritual
Minister and Continental Envoy for the Global Faith
Ministries Network. The Global Faith Ministries
is a Spiritual Ministry, which works with other
faith-based institutions, to promote peace and tolerance
amongst world religions.
She is also the Founder and CEO of the African Women
Economic Consortium (AWEC). The African Women Economic
Consortium is a non profit 501 (C)( 3) organization
founded in 2002 as an organization of women of diverse
racial, social, educational and spiritual backgrounds
who have recognized the need for proactive action
for change in the lives of women and children locally,
nationally and globally.
Dr. Uwa Osimiri was an official delegate to the
first Africa's Most Senior Religious Leadership
Conference on HIV/AIDS and Orphaned Children held
in Nairobi Kenya, on June 9-12, 2002, sponsored
by the United Nations World Council of Religions
for Peace (WCRP). An Ambassador for Peace, she participated
at the International Leadership Conferences entitled,
“American Leadership at a time of Global crisis”
and the celebration of the 25 year anniversary of
the Washington Times on May 15-19, 2007 and in Hawaii
in June 17- 21, 2007. These events were sponsored
by the Washington Times foundation and the International
federation for World Peace.
These
events featured over 20 world Presidents, Prime
Ministers, Ambassadors, scores of international
religious, academic, political leaders and national
media executives. She continues to participate at
this level internationally. She is instrumental
for creating the Village of Hope, which is now the
much-heralded initiative to change the care of African
Orphans as well as the Foundations Program, which
will serve young people aging out of the Foster
Care system in and housing for the homeless in Michigan.
A
member of the Emerging Minority Businesses Council
of Michigan, she recently received a Certificate
of Tribute from Governor Jennifer Granholm. She
has also received several educational citations
and several City of Detroit and Wayne County certificates
of recognition. Two years ago, she was nominated
to receive the Faculty of the Year award at the
University of Phoenix where she teaches MBA Business
courses. Dr. Uwa Osimiri has been featured in the
Detroit News as one of Michigan’s most influential
women.
Dr.
Uwa Osimiri received her elementary and secondary
school education in Nigeria and her Bachelor of
Science Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from
the University of North Alabama. She received her
Masters in Organizational Management from the University
of Phoenix and a Doctoral Degree in Natural Theology
with a focus on Comparative Study of World Religious
Theology, from the Godian Academy. She is pursuing
a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Walden
University.
Dr. Uwa Osimiri has conducted personal development
lecture series entitled “Write Your Own Story”
for corporations such as DaimlerChrysler Women’s
Forum who have whole-heartedly endorsed her lecture
series. She has conducted numerous workshops at
the Museum of African American History, Cobo Hall,
at numerous schools and universities, international
forums and has been a guest on several television
and radio talk shows.
She
is a certified Senior Grant Writer and Instructor.
An accomplished Artist and Author, she has completed
several manuscripts for publications. She is the
proud mother of one son, Nnamdi Onyioha Osimiri
and two daughters, Adaora Ngozi Osimiri and Kelenna
Omanne Osimiri. |
